H and boys got to wedding in Canada, yay!

They left on Tuesday last at 4 am, picked up their RV on Thursday and headed up to Matt and Sara’s wedding at the cottage in Killarney yesterday. Apparently it was a lovely day – I was thinking of them at each stage. I just feel so happy for them all, not at all unhappy that I’m not there because I just can’t conceive of being anywhere but in bed here, where I’ve been all week. I’m not well, tho some dexemethazone through the pump driver is helping, and I’m getting injections of nozinan anti-sickness.
Have been looked after 24 hrs a day by a rota of friends, utterly amazing. J moved in last week at a moment’s notice when N fell ill, and D came up from London on the sleeper on Friday. M, back from hols, moves in tonight, boys back Thurs am. Others have been coming in for a few hours or run errands etc. And of course, the medics have been on full alert with nurses coming in twice a day or more. Tomorrow I will see the docs again to try to get this sickness sorted. Meanwhile I’m happy with my friends, and even happier that boys made it to wedding.

    Dear Flick

Good to read your blog – not just for the 18th July but also for previous days. Hope boys all got home safely and sickness more under control.

Jon had his leaving do at our house on Wednesday. All his staff came along and were very supportive – saying what a brilliant boss he was and how sad they were to lose him. Rees and Nathanael were there being helpers and it was good for them to hear what other people think of their father. I don’t know about Jon but it made me feel very warm inside – he’s obviously the same Jon at work that he is at home.

Give our love to Henry, James and Thomas. We’re looking forward to seeing you all at the end of August.
    Love you.
    Deborah.

  3. Hi Flick,

Henry let us know that you were in hospital and a link to your very amazing blog which I’ve just been reading and catching up on all you’ve been through. We’re sending you a little cheerfulness which hopefully will arrive tomorrow. We’re thinking about you and sending you all our love from SA. Looking forward to your next posting on your blog!!

    With all our love,
    Charisse & Peter.

  4. Hi Flik! I met Henry a while ago and he told me of your blog. I was prompted to look for it after you came up in a conversation (electronic) I was having with Cathie. (Not sure if you remember her!) I’m so glad I found it and have been reading quite a few entries. It’s great that you have written about your travels. Henry seemed unchanged when I met him briefly one lunchtime, but I bet your boys have changed a lot since I met them. My girls are 11 (Anna) and 7 (twins Maja and Katrina). I don’t think M and K were there when I saw you last, so it’s been a long time.
Thinking of you, much love Bob

    Hi Flick,
Came across your blog recently and just wanted to send you my best wishes.
Is it really 35 years since I left Brunel? I recall a crowd of us stopped over with you at Ecton House – I think we were either on our way to or from Knebworth or Cambridge Folk Festival. Happy days!
Keep up the fight. Stay strong. Thinking of you.
    Best wishes
    Jan
