Marie Curie Hospice – Friday 6th Aug 2010 10:15am

Flick died peacefully this morning in the Marie Curie hospice.

She is an inspiration to us all. An amazing mother, wife, lover, sister, daughter, teacher and friend. Her spirit and memory will live on in our hearts.

When the funeral arrangements are in place we will post them on the blog.

Celebrate Flick’s life and memory, share the good times with friends and pass on the news.

Flick would like donations (rather than flowers) to:

  1. Dear H, I’m so deeply sad that Flick’s great spirit is no longer with us. The world is less meaningful without her. Thinking of you all the time. Thank you for posting at such a difficult time for you and the boys. Please let us know what is happening. Love, Sophie

    Dear Henry, James and Thomas,

Andrew and I are deeply saddened at the news of your loss. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Our memories of Flick are only good, and include great days out, generous lunches and parties. We will remember Flick with great fondness for her indomitable spirit, good humour and the fine example that she set for us in so many ways.

  4. Dear Henry, James and Thomas,
Feeling for you all at this sad time…Elaine gave me the news this morning that Flick had died, and Trevor forwarded your email. I have been sitting this evening reading her final blog entries. I wish I had seen her more recently – my last memories are of visiting her in hospital last year and being touched by her amazing spirit and quick sense of humour – she faced her illness and the changes it brought with openness and courage….she told me about getting her favorite songs played on the hospital radio station – she was upbeat, rather than down beat, and I left feeling touched and inspired. I am so grateful for the all too short moments we shared, in the dream group and on other occasions. You will miss her deeply, but her spirit will remain with us all..bright and beautiful, just as she was.
